Dear Colleague,
Jamaica has successfully achieved the Elimination of Mother-to-Child Transmission (EMTCT) of HIV and syphilis through the PMTCT Programme. However, to maintain this status, the HIV/STI/TB Unit (HSTU) recognizes the need to identify and address existing gaps within the programme.
To this end, the HSTU will be hosting a PMTCT Case Review on Friday, February 28, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM. This session will focus on HIV-positive infant cases and confirmed congenital syphilis cases from 2024, with the goal of strengthening the PMTCT programme and improving future outcomes.
