Association of General Practitioners of Jamaica (AGPJ) Webinar Partnership with Pharmaceutical Companies

Enhancing CME Opportunities Through Strategic Collaboration

The Association of General Practitioners of Jamaica (AGPJ) is committed to fostering continuous medical education (CME) for General Practitioners and Family Physicians across Jamaica. To further this goal, we are offering a strategic partnership with pharmaceutical companies to host their medical meetings alongside AGPJ-hosted CME webinars.

How the Partnership Works

When a pharmaceutical company plans to host a webinar on a particular date that coincides with an AGPJ webinar under a similar theme, both entities can collaborate to enhance participation and reduce costs. This initiative ensures that:

  • General Practitioners and Family Physicians receive relevant, up-to-date medical knowledge.
  • Pharmaceutical companies maximize attendance at their educational sessions.
  • The cost of hosting events is significantly reduced.

Terms of Partnership

  1. Scope of Collaboration
    • The pharmaceutical company will be responsible for selecting its own speaker(s) and presentation topic, ensuring alignment with AGPJ’s event theme and their product focus.
    • The pharmaceutical company will be assigned a dedicated session within the AGPJ CME event.
    • The speaker(s) from the pharmaceutical company will be allowed the same presentation duration as they would receive in a standalone meeting.
    • This partnership applies to webinars only and must be clearly stated in all agreements.
  2. Event Cost-Sharing
    • The partnership significantly reduces costs for the pharmaceutical company, as hosting expenses are shared.
    • If the event is hybrid, costs for venue, audiovisual (AV), and multimedia equipment will be the expense of the pharmaceutical company.
  3. Fees and Registration
    • Cost per speaker: $100,000 JMD
    • CME certificates will be issued to attendees, with a minimum charge of $1,000 – $1,500 JMD per attendee, except for speakers and faculty.
    • Physicians specifically invited by the pharmaceutical company will not be charged for CME certificates.
  4. Advertising and Promotion
    • The event will be advertised on the AGPJ website and across our platforms.
    • Promotional materials must include the logos of both AGPJ and the pharmaceutical company.
    • AGPJ and pharmaceutical company should collaborate in designing the promotional material
    • The pharmaceutical company is allowed to promote the event to their target audience and invite physicians of their choice.
  5. Access to Attendee Information
    • A full list of attendees with relevant details will be provided to the partnering pharmaceutical company after the event.
